When James Dyson set out to create a bagless vacuum cleaner driven by just a cyclone of air he started on a path that would revolutionise the way vacuum cleaners looked and worked forever. Whilst more expensive than the vast majority of their competitors Dyson cleaners promise uncompromising suction from the moment you switch it on. It is in absolutely no doubt that many other manufacturers have witnessed the performance from the range of Dyson hoovers and many have brought out similar bagless models. These competitors are usually at a lower price point than the equivalent Dyson cleaner so is there still a reason to purchase the more expensive Dyson model?
Advantages of Bagless Vacuum Cleaners
All Dyson hoovers are bagless which has a number of advantages over bagged cleaners. Anyone over a certain age will almost certainly remember the old vacuums used from twenty to thirty years ago. These were commonly either upright cleaners or cylinders that had very few attachments and tended to lose suction quite quickly. You then had to take the device outside whilst the bag was removed, if you did it inside you'd end up scattering dirt and dust everywhere again which kind of defeated the purpose, and then replace the half full bag you've just removed with a new one. Bagless hoovers, like all Dyson models, are much simpler to use. As there is no bag the dust and dirt is gathered in a, usually, see through container and once full is simply removed from the vacuum and taken outside to the rubbish where it is emptied with very little fuss or mess. Bagless vacuum cleaners, like the Dyson models, do not lose suction so you can continue to use them until they are full. You do not have to replace expensive bags so the running costs are lower and it is easy to remove the dust container and clean it ocassionally to keep it looking like new.
Should You Buy Dyson Instead of a Competitor
Given that the majority of Dyson's competitors quickly caught onto the revolution they worked tirelessly to catch up with the pioneer and soon began to release competitive models. One downside of a Dyson vacuum cleaner is the price as they tend to be a bit more expensive than other brands. Dyson have managed to retain their number one position however as the recognised brand leader by boasting ever improving suction along with other enhancements such as the rollerball vacuum cleaner. This model replaced the traditional base unit with a roller ball, the idea being that the hoover became instantly easier to maneuver than traditional models. So the end result comes down to brand versus price.
